A seasoned consultant for nonprofits and foundations, Denise DeMaio translates complex financial issues, develops risk mitigation strategies and provides strategic advice to KrasnePlows’ clients. She has extensive negotiation and consensus building expertise, ranging from mediating investment commitments and divestitures to building and instituting new products and processes. Denise is especially adept at creating financial models and is a skilled presenter and contributor on nonprofit finance.
In her previous role at the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF), Denise worked with nonprofit organizations in multiple sectors to assess and address their financial needs. She underwrote working capital and facilities loans up to $1.5 million, participated in over 75 financial sustainability consulting engagements and managed a loan guaranty program. Denise transitioned to NFF after multiple years with MetLife. While with the company’s Social Investment Program, she recommended program-related investments for nonprofit organizations with budgets of up to $20 million.
Denise formerly served as a board member and as Treasurer for New York City’s Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. She holds a B.S. in Finance from Fordham University and an MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
