Highly regarded as a pioneer in nonprofit mergers and collaborations, Barbara Krasne is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of KrasnePlows. Known for her straightforward and solutions-oriented style, Barb helps leaders identify opportunities for change and successfully guides their transitions. She assists organizations, often at critical junctures in their life cycles, reinvent and reposition themselves to thrive and become even more effective.
A former CEO, Barb is experienced in all aspects of business, from marketing and sales to finance and operations. For over 30 years, she provided strategic and operational expertise to both for-profits and nonprofits, including USA Today, ArtNet, Time Inc. and Publicitas. She understands technology and has consistently used it to help foster successful enterprises.
Barb has held appointments on various corporate and non-profit boards, including the Parent-Child Home Program, Inwood House, Governance Matters, and Christopher Norman Chocolates. She was appointed to the University of Kansas Marketing Alumni Advisory Council, was a mentor for the National Social Venture Competition, sponsored by Columbia Business School, the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley, and The Goldman Sachs Foundation.
Currently, Barb serves on the selection committees of the New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards, produced by the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee and Philanthropy New York, and sponsored by WNYC as well as the Brooke W. Mahoney Award for Outstanding Board Leadership. Barb earned a B.A. in Art History and Psychology from the University of Kansas where she also received an MBA in Finance and Accounting.
