As a co-founder of KrasnePlows, Judy Plows brings a combination of nonprofit experience and strong business expertise. She was chief operating officer of the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF), a leader in providing financial assistance and advisory services to nonprofit organizations. There Plows established two successful joint ventures that expanded NFF's programs and services to new locations. She helped develop an innovative, replicable program to encourage nonprofits to establish reserve funds for their buildings. She also strengthened NFF's financial, human resources, and technology functions to support its growth nationally. More recently, Plows served as executive director of a start-up foundation dedicated to planning and establishing an Asian University for Women. She worked with each organization's board to increase its understanding of the nonprofit's financial health and the key issues to be faced.

Plows is a member of the board, executive and investment committees of United Educators, an insurance company for colleges, universities, and independent schools, and Footsteps, a start-up organization. Historically Plows served as member of the board and the finance, investment and executive committees of Oberlin College. While there, she headed Oberlin’s nominations committee, instituting a complete board development process from recruitment to evaluation and leading the search for a new chair. As vice chair, she revised the board’s committee structure, tackling key initiatives more effectively. In consulting engagements and as a board member, Plows participated in numerous strategic planning exercises and worked to strengthen board chair/executive director relationships, board orientation programs, trustee engagement and overall board effectiveness.

Plows spent 20 years in numerous positions at J.P. Morgan and Co., Inc., including chief operating officer in Morgan's Mutual Funds Group, head of Human Resources in Private Banking, and director of various client relationship groups. She also prepared strategic plans for its Investment Management arm. Previously, Plows spent 10 years in education, teaching high school and holding various administrative positions.

Plows holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton Graduate School of Finance, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Yale University, and a BA in History from Oberlin College. She is a member of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and BoardSource.
